Scheduled an appointment days in advance. I arrive there only to be told that they will need my vehicle for 2-3 days. They had days to tell me this so I could prepare but they didn’t care to do so even after I told them what I needed done over the phone. (Btw, don’t expect to be greeted with a huma on the phone, expect Ai to completely bumble its way through the booking process because it’s unable to answer questions. I had to call back and request a huma multiple times). On top of that, I needed a warning code cleared because I did some work on my car the day before. All I had done was unplug a plug, which triggered a warning label. They quoted me $280! I went to harbor freight and picked up my own code clearer for $50 and cleared it myself. (Yes, I also double checked it was safe to clear this specific code). I’m not exaggerating when I say the code took about 10 seconds to clear; 1 minute if you include the time to plug it in and link it to my car. I can’t speak on the quality work they do because I left instead of leaving my car with them. But I already see signs of a dishonest shop who overcharges and doesn’t care about quality of customer service. One thing is on their mind and its profit.
Other than the entry area to the service department which is crowded and not well laid out, I was happy with the service. It had been quite some time since I last serviced my 14 year old Eos at the dealer because I dont drive it a lot these days and so have done simple oil changes /tire service. I expected them to find some things to repair but not to the extent that their diagnostic hardware signaled needed attention. It was A lot! Close to the value of the car at this point. But my service advisor Josh was very good and patiently worked with me to make sure I took care of the most important things on the list. I had to leave it overnight but then It was ready earlier than they anticipated. Josh was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable- I recommend scheduling with him. I’m not certain that all the things their diagnostic said was needed of course but that’s always a tough call! All in all - a good experience : )
I had a fantastic experience at VW DTLA because of Joshua Fuentes. He was so helpful, I’d genuinely recommend him to everyone. I am incredibly appreciative that he went above and beyond to help me. I expressed to him that I previously did not have the best experiences with other departments at DTLA, and he completely changed my attitude about VW, and I will happily go back for service there because of him.
