I have a 48’ blue water sailboat built in 2006. I planned a voyage from San Diego into the Sea of Cortez in 2023. I decided to upgrade the original electronics. I was frustrated trying to work with a couple of electronics installation professional on Shelter Island. A friend suggested I give Upgrade Marine a call. I called and was immediately impressed with their customer service and general knowledge of electronics. They came in and helped me understand what makes sense for what I wanted to accomplish. They did an outstanding job installing a new Raymarine system. I made the voyage into the sea of Cortez and back to San Diego. The electronics performed very well and really improved the journey and continue to work great to this day 6,000NM later. Fast forward to 2025 and I planned another voyage down to Cabo San Lucas and back. My AGM batteries were aged out and it was time to make a change. I worked with Upgrade Marine to install a Victron LiFePO4 system, add a high output alternator and improved solar panels. Again, Upgrade Marine did an outstanding job for me in all respects. I appreciated their clever use of space and installation designed to withstand heavy seas. I tested the new system at sea and at anchor on a 30-day journey to Cabo and back to San Diego. The system performed flawlessly. I highly recommend Upgrade Marine.

I recently had Brian and Upgrade Marine install a new Lithium Ion based "House" battery system and Inverter on my boat. I also supplemented this with two flexible/removable 170w solar panels that will allow me to charge the system when at anchor. My AC demand can now be met through shore power, battery bank, solar, or my genset. It's too soon to judge how long I can go without running the genset, but it may be a couple of days or more. The quality of the installation was top notch as you can see in the included photos. One of the photos is of the live system performance display. There is also an App that I have not loaded yet.
