I reached out to Alex from Tanous late last night around 11 PM when my AC suddenly gave out. After doing a ton of research and reading reviews, I was looking for an honest, reliable company—and that’s exactly what I found. Alex was amazing. Two of his techs showed up right at 10 AM this morning, just like he said they would, and got straight to work. Nicola the lead tech knew his stuff from the second he got here. They diagnosed the issue, went out to Montclair to pick up the exact part needed, and came back on time—to the minute. The repair took exactly how long they said it would, and my AC was back up and running within hours. Alex took the time to walk me through everything—what happened, what they were fixing, and what I should keep an eye on going forward. The price was very fair and there were no surprises AT ALL - WHICH IS SHOCKING TO BE HONEST. Guy treats you like family. I’ve already shared his number with neighbors and our community group. I had the most amazing experience with Tanous. I can’t thank them enough for helping me deal with such a stressful situation when the HVAC at my condo unit in Hoboken, NJ stopped working. I would highly recommend Tanous. They are one of the very few honest HVAC companies who truly will put their clients first - that is true customer service! I had a different HVAC company who did preventative maintenance on my HVAC not too long ago and said everything was working well. Less than a month later, it stopped working, so this bad HVAC company diagnosed it. However they couldn’t figure out what was wrong and just wanted me to pay them $10,000 for a brand new equipment. When I asked them what was broken their response was “I don’t know but you’re better off with a new one so you don’t have to deal with these issues.” They want to replace the HVAC even without knowing what was broken! Tanous was completely different. Johnny T, the technician is very knowledgeable and will explain the issue and solutions to you very clearly. He did multiple tests on the HVAC and was able to identify the source of the problem. When they offered pricing for the replacement, it was also a lot less than the competitor. Alex, the owner, was also very understanding and considerate of his customers. He clearly said that he’d rather fix the issue if he can than have to replace the unit, which will cost the customer more money. Replacement is only an option if the unit is truly broken and if they’ve identified what is broken. At the end, no replacement was needed (saving me thousands of dollars) because Johnny T and Tanous was able to diagnose the issue correctly and fix it.

Tanous installed ductless mini splits in our 3 storey brick rowhouse, and did a fantastic job. Michael Tanous was always available to discuss any questions I had, and the team worked hard to get the job done, and were easy to deal with. Our house is very old and has a lot of brick and sheetrock. Michael and team were creative and thoughtful with how they set up the systems within the constraints of the space. The Fujitsu mini splits are already doing a great job keeping our home warm as the weather gets colder!
