Steven is an experienced plumber. He installed a new AO Smith water heater. What is more noteworthy, while he shared that he had not dealt with Radiant heating, it in the past, he figured out our existing radiant heating design and made it working as a closed loop circuit. He had to research this solution, which he was diligent about. He was even thoughtful to save our previous heat exchanger, which came very handy.

When my nearly new hybrid heat pump water heater recently failed unexpectedly I called one of the three plumbing companies serving Sunnyvale who were specifically authorized by the manufacturer to service their water heaters. The company I chose was SPS Plumbing, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. Everyone at SPS was very helpful and friendly. Starting with Vanessa, who answers the phone at the office, and who sets up appointments and does all the admin stuff. The person who came to my house was Reuben, who quickly diagnosed the problem and obtained the authorization from the manufacturer to replace the entire water heater. Rueben was very professional and courteous, and he clearly answered all my questions. Reuben also put my water heater in electric-only mode so that I would continue to have hot water while waiting for the replacement water heater to be ordered and delivered. I didn’t know it was even possible to switch from heat pump mode to electric only mode and therefore to continue to have hot water even though the heat pump mode of the water heater was totally inoperative. Once the replacement water heater was delivered, Reuben and the owner of SPS Plumbing, Steve, came to install it. Once again, Reuben and Steve were once again, professional, efficient and courteous. Steve helped me remove some valuable spare parts from the defective water heater and he advised me how best to maintain the water heater annually by draining and flushing, cleaning the filter, and even removing and cleaning the two heating elements if I wanted to do that task myself. Or he told me SPS offers an annual service if I didn’t want to do those things by myself. Teaching me how to do it was very generous of them. I would happily use SPS Plumbing again. Their service was everything I hoped it would be; professional, timely, efficient, and courteous. You can’t ask for anything more.
