We had such an incredible experience with Edison Heating & Cooling from start to finish! RJ was absolutely amazing during the sales and ordering process – he took the time to thoroughly inspect our units, explain everything clearly, and recommend the perfect AC/furnace systems for our home. His patience was phenomenal. As a full-time working family with two little ones, we truly appreciated how seamless he made the entire process. He even had our installation scheduled with an impressively quick turnaround time! When installation day came, Rob and Lukas arrived right on time and were so kind, courteous and professional. They walked us through their work in detail before leaving, answered every question we had, and made sure everything was perfect. They left the entire area spotless. Honestly, probably cleaner than it was before they arrived! We couldn’t be happier with the service, quality, and care from Edison Heating & Cooling. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, efficient, and friendly team!
Our HVAC broke down during the coldest week of the year, and PSE&G Worryfree red-tagged it (i.e. further operation illegal). PSE&G was so busy, they could not even come out to quote us on a new system for a full week, so we started looking around. Edison came highly recommended. Their sales person (Brian) was there the *next* morning. Brian was very knowledgable and honest, didn't pressure us with fake "decide-now" rebates or weird up-sells. A detailed quote was sent over, transparent, complete and competitively priced compared to a vendor in town. Three days later - postponed by a day due to the massive winter storm - a team of 3 men installed the system (HVAC, Heater & Condenser) in frigid weather and with 12" of snow on the ground. Clean install. Careful with the property. Super-organized communication. The installed Carrier system has a smaller footprint, but works much better than our old one, even as we near record-low temperatures in NJ. Will report back on the AC component when the summer arrives. I don't think there are many HVAC companies around that manage to average 5 star reviews from nearly all clients. Pick these guys. You won't be sorry. PS Ain't she a beaut?
Price was $10,500 for gas furnace heater and air conditioner. NJ code requires an external filter. The external compartment for the air filter is custom made at the Edison Heating and Cooling shop and is for a 14” x 25” air filter. The Carrier gas furnace heater O&M Manual specifiers a15” x 25” air filter. The installers explained that this was for an internal air filter that is no longer required. An external pump plugged into an AC outlet attached to the heater chassis is required to pump out the condensate from the air conditioner. A plastic tube brings the condensate to the washing machine drain pipe. The old York air conditioner system did not have an external condensate pump. The condensate line can become clogged, which will shut down the air conditioner and cause a float to bob up, which has an external indicator. The photos show the external pump and AC outlet. This is an added point of failure, which the old air conditioner did not have. The five year parts and labor extended warranty requires a service contract above and beyond the $10,500. The service contract is for an annual inspection / maintenance. This is $179 per year plus sales tax.
