I can not recommend Jason and Jordan of Beach Electric enough. What struck me the most were the following three things- Communication: Jason is very responsive. He communicates well, and often, even just to provide progress updates when waiting on permits or design. I always knew where we were at in the process, what the next steps were, and what I owed. Respect: Jason is very respectful of the needs of my family and I. He was always polite and professional. Scheduling was flexible with my schedule. Classic southern manners and charm. Quality work: The county inspector was praising the quality of his work at our final inspection. Jason did a panel map, added outlets, rewired problem areas of the house, panel upgrade, change in service drop. and installed a full battery backups system for my solar. We had some serious issues with dangerous wiring at our house from old work. I am very happy with the high quality of his work, and my wife rests well knowing she is safe because the work was done correctly and to high standards. He went above and beyond to fully learn the EG4 system I was having installed because I wanted to avoid Tesla. The bonus was him including all the paperwork in a clean and organized binder that he gave me at the end of the project. You get what you pay for, and Jason's work is top notch.
Jason and his crew were fantastic! Their pricing was reasonable. They were thorough in finding our electrical issues and taking care of things in an efficient manner that was cost conscious for us. They were able to fix problems that other electrician could not do and told us were unsolvable. We 100% recommend Beach Electric and will be solely using them moving forward.
Working with Jason and Jordan from Beach Electrical was the best contractor experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve hired many over the years. We’ve been planing on having our knob and tube wiring replaced, and as we were getting ready to undertake that project and get estimates, we also began to notice our lights flickering a lot, so we added that addressing that to the work we had done. Their communication is great — Jason (the owner) does what he tells you, when he promises it. He was punctual to our estimate, and once we settled on them among estimates from other electricians, Jason told me he’d be in touch on a specific Monday to settle all the details and scheduling. In the late afternoon that Monday, I get the promised phone call. Later on, they had to delay starting our work for a week because of being sick, and we knew about the delay the weekend before, rather than the morning of the first day. And once they started the work, Jason kept me apprised of what scary and existing shoddy work they were finding in our electrical system, including a few “this could start a fire” items with uncapped live wires just tucked back into walls, electrical boxes filled with mud due to termite damage, or shortcuts that resulted in wires doing double duty when they really really shouldn’t. The other important part of communication is listening, and they took the time to listen to what I had to say, what I wanted done, and why. Our house already had about half of its wiring modernized, and we were hiring to replace the other half, which was on 100 year old knob and tube wires. They completely understood that, unlike another large electrician company in town that heard “partial knob and tube rewire” and wrote an estimate for a complete whole house rewire and ignored everything else I said. The price for Beach Electrical felt fair — a bit more than one other electrician, but less than half of what than that other company that quoted me for a much larger scope that I did not want. Mind you, this was not a small or inexpensive job, and it did run longer than they initially estimated based on what they found after starting, but with the way Beach Electrical took care of things and for the amount of time and effort they did while here, I felt like the final bill was completely fair for great work. Since our project was happening just before Thanksgiving and we were having some guests, Jason and Jordan stayed late one day to make sure our guest room was completely done for the benefit of our guests. We would have been perfectly ok with it being in progress, but they insisted on making sure we were taken care of, since it would be about a week before they would be back based on our family’s holiday schedule. And on a different day, they offered to start later in the morning to accommodate our morning routines, since that was the day they needed to work in our only bathroom. Little details like all these made me felt like they cared not just about doing good electrical work, but that they cared about the customer experience with them as well. Finally, there was my flickering lights problem. Before we started calling electricians, we called PG&E, and they visited twice, insisting the problem wasn’t them after the second visit. During the estimate, Jason pointed out an obvious splice on the power line feeding the house and said the flicker might be related to that. By the time Jason was done with the main work in our house, the flicker was worse than ever — they had found a lot of loose connections inside the house, which they had tightened. Those loose connections were masking the problem, and so the worsened flicker was starting to point back to PG&E. So we call PG&E for a third time on a Friday, they show up and Jason talks to them this time, and points out the splice to them. They immediately agree to replace our power line, and PG&E shows up on a Sunday with multiple trucks to do the work. That fixed the flicker — Jason was right immediately from the moment he saw that splice, even though PG&E had said multiple times it wasn’t them.
