UPDATE: Shortly after posting my original review, 1st Choice Mechanical reached out immediately to ensure my complete satisfaction. While a quality control follow-up is standard practice and I had simply slipped through the cracks, they took full ownership of the situation without hesitation. A representative came out, answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns, and got me scheduled to repair the scuttle. The response was professional, proactive, and reassuring. From reception to sales to the technicians, every team member I interacted with was top-notch, friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making things right. Their willingness to listen and act quickly speaks volumes about their customer service and integrity. I truly appreciate how seriously they take feedback and customer satisfaction, and this follow-up experience reinforced my confidence in recommending 1st Choice Mechanical. ORIGINAL: After attending a home show, I learned that 1st Choice Mechanical was offering energy audits and decided to take advantage of the opportunity. The audit itself was very informative, and I discovered that both my ducting and AC system were not compliant for the size of my home. 1st Mechanical provided a detailed quote, and after obtaining three additional quotes that were roughly half the price, I circled back to them because I was genuinely impressed by their professionalism. I asked why their pricing was significantly higher, and they took the time to reassess the project, lowered their price, and clearly explained the differences in scope and quality between their work and that of other HVAC companies. Based on that transparency, I ultimately chose to move forward with 1st Choice Mechanical and was scheduled for the same week. The installation team arrived on time, were friendly, and worked efficiently. They completed the entire project in one day, which was impressive. However, I was disappointed with the housekeeping and communication surrounding the work. Insulation was left in clumps throughout my xeriscaping/landscaping, and there were no preventative measures taken to protect items in my garage. My washer, dryer, bikes, TV, and other belongings were covered in insulation dust, and no cleanup was done upon their departure. While it only took me about 30 minutes to clean everything with a leaf blower and towel, I would have prepared differently had I known what to expect. Additionally, I was told the team would only be working in the attic over the house and not the garage, and I wasn’t advised to remove or protect any attic items. When I later inspected the attic, I found a white substance on a suitcase that I was unable to remove. The only direction I was given beforehand was to move my cars out of the garage. I also noticed insulation falling out of the vents throughout the house, requiring me to remove the vent covers and vacuum them myself. They replaced the scuttle hole as part of the project, but the workmanship there was subpar. The staples were not fully secured, the wood was already cracked, and the cover is slightly too small for the opening. Lastly, there was no follow-up from the team to check on how the project went or to address any questions or concerns. While some of these issues may be standard practice, they were not communicated to me beforehand or discussed afterward. Based on other reviews, I am confident the ductwork itself was done properly, and I appreciate the warranty, which gives me peace of mind as we head into summer. Overall, I would recommend 1st Choice Mechanical to friends and family for their professionalism, technical knowledge, and quality of work, but I do wish there had been better communication and attention to cleanup and customer follow-up.

Tim and Nate are absolutely WONDERFUL! I had 4 quotes to fix the hot/cold zones in my two story house. Each vendor all came to the same conclusion; however the solutions to my problem were all different and two were boarderline fraudulent! Tim took several hours to scour over my electric bills, perform an energy audit and then explain (NOT man-splain) several options to correct the duct work in my 30yo home. Nate came next to assure the plan was feasible without damaging anything structural in my attic. To top it off I was having company in 4 days so 1st Choice arrived at 7am on the agreed work day with 6 trucks and 7 men! They worked until 9pm in order to assure everything was operational. This type of service, attention to detail and honesty is rare and I greatly appreciate the quality and value of this family run local business.

Jeo did an amazing job helping me understand what issues my AC hand. He didn’t try and upsell me on service I didn’t need. He was honest and straightforward with his quote. I really felt he had my best interests in mind and wasn’t trying to nickel and dime me. I feel I can trust 1st Choice with any future fixes or installations. They will be the first ones I call.
